This blog is dedicated to my husband who sees my imperfections and doesn't mention them.

I love trying new beauty products. Place me in a Sephora or Ulta store and I feel I am in paradise. For hours I can pleasantly entertain myself looking at the plethora of different shampoos, facial washes, makeup and perfumes, envisioning myself as a size 0 with glowing clear skin, no split ends, and being stopped by every man in America asking “What’s that scent you are wearing? (Ok, maybe not EVERY man)

One of my downfalls , as my mother will readily tell you, is that I am a sucker for cool packaging and intriguing ingredients. That inclination has resulted in trying hundreds of different products over the years – good and bad. Some products I have used ever since I was in college and I would rather exit the house with no makeup and hairy arm pits then see my fav end up on the proverbial chopping block. Others I have readily discarded vowing never again to be duped by flowery ingredients which deliver zero results.

Because of my “beauty product love”, I probably have more knowledge roaming around in my head than Wikipedia. So I decided to start this blog to share my adventures with you on the quest for beauty, giving my recommendations and warnings so your money can be well spent. The subject matter may be a tad vain, but ultimately every woman has an innate desire to look and feel her best and there is nothing wrong with that. Happy reading, and if you don’t come for my daily blabberings at least drop by for my contest giveaways that I hope to do every other month.

Do you Obagi?

I come by my “beauty product love” honestly—my mom has probably tried as many products as I have. She has different concerns than I do, of course, but many times we end up trying the same product. This past week, she visited Luminous Skin Studios in Chandler, Arizona for a $37 microdermabrasion. (yes, that’s right--$37. Can you say “SCREAMING DEAL" – read more about it here) She was pleased with the results although she didn’t think the suction was as powerful as other microdermabrasions she has had in the past. At Luminous they promote the Obagi skin line which is a type of skin restoration system. I have heard some great things about this Obagi, but it is pricey and my mom wants to learn more before the investment. And if Exuviance doesn’t work, I may be interested in purchasing as well. So give us some advice! Have you tried the Obagi skin care line? Yea or Nay? As Frasier would say “Talk to me. I’m listening. “

Hi, I found your link on Facebook and wanted to tell you about the Obagi cleanser.
I've been using it for about 6 weeks now and just love it! My dermatologist recommended it for some clogged pores and black heads that I had on my nose. (Other than that my skin is in pretty good condition.) I'm 34 and don't have any major problems yet. I just use the Obagi gel cleanser. It was only $30 and I think well worth the money! You just use a pea size amount. I have never had anything clean my face so well and not leave it feeling dry. My skin hasn't felt this soft in years! The soap is clearing up things that I didn't even recognize were there. My husband is so sick of hearing about this Obagi soap. I'm so glad I have someone else that I can tell about it. I plan to keep using it for a long long time. I have never been so excited about washing my face! I know it sounds crazy, but I just love the cleanser! I asked my doctor about a moisturizer and she said I didn't need one, just a sunscreen. And like the Obagi add says...you'll want to go naked. I hate putting makeup on such a soft clean face. I'm a stay at home mom, so I like the simple routine of the Obagi system. Hope this helps and good luck!

Thanks Michelle! I was curious to hear how Obagi is working for other people. My dermatologist sells it as well, so I wanted to know if it works before making the investment. :)
